Important Updates
RHE Parents' Meeting
Friday 12th March
Dear Parent and Carers,
Consultation of Relationships and Health Education Curriculum Policy and Resources
As you are aware, schools are expected to deliver the new Statutory content for Relationships and Health Education (RHE) during the Summer Term. An important part of the process is to provide an opportunity for parents to comment upon the scheme and resources.
In collaboration with Local Derby City Schools, we have now completed the scheme of work and compiled the list of resources. To give parents a chance to see the materials before they are used, we will begin a consultation period with parents.
The consultation period will take place over the next two weeks. The Policy and the materials will be available on our School website (link below) from Monday 15th March. Parents/Carers will have until Friday 26th March to view and comment upon these resources.

Current social distancing measures, and restrictions on public gatherings, mean that we cannot hold parent meetings until further notice. Therefore, we have created a video presentation to support the consultation process. The presentation will be available on Loom and a link will be sent to parents via Class Dojo.
To feedback and comment on the resources we invite you to fill out an electronic questionnaire on Survey Monkey; again this link will be sent to you via Class Dojo.
We value your thoughts and we look forward to hearing your views and opinions.
Thank you for your continued support.
Best wishes

Dear Parent and Carers,
Planned Delivery of Relationships and Health Education Postponed until Summer 2021
Prior to the school closure, to the majority of pupils, we had already created a draft Relationship and Health Education Policy. This policy was shared with our community and feedback was received and acted upon.
In addition, as part of the process we are also developing a new scheme of work and set of resources, which will be used to deliver the statutory curriculum.
An important part of the consultation process is to share the scheme and resources we have developed. We had hoped to complete this during the summer term before starting the curriculum in September 2020. Unfortunately, due the school partial closure and the Covid-19 pandemic, we were unable to carry out this consultation.
We believe that consulting with parents is a vital and important step in delivering a successful new Relationships and Health Education Curriculum.
As this consultation has not yet taken place, we have postponed the teaching of the new curriculum until Summer 2021. This will allow us to share the scheme of work and resources before they are used in school.
Current social distancing measures and restriction on public gatherings mean that we cannot hold parent meetings until further notice. Therefore, information regarding how and when the consultation will take place will be sent out during the Autumn Term
We thank you for your continued support and understanding.
